Transition Buxton is a local group working together to improve our community resilience, particularly in the transition to less fossil fuel dependence.

We have been going since 2008, have approx 130 Members, + 400 on our supporters email list.

We have a dispersed community orchard of over 100 trees.

We run a monthly Repair Café.

We are currently running fortnightly mini-seminars via zoom.

We do free home energy surveys.

We are currently working to achieve Plastic Free Community status with City to Sea.

We established Serpentine Community Garden which is now a standalone charity.

We do education outreach work in schools.

We are at an early stage of working with other groups in our Borough to draw up a Climate Action Plan for the wider area following declaration of a Climate Emergency.
