The Highgate Climate Action Network (HiCAN) has been active in Highgate ( London ) for the last three years, successfully growing to a membership of over 100 and engaging in lobbying, education and practical activities in response to the challenges of Climate Change and Peak Oil. A small group of members recently embarked on a mapping and consultation project to engage with other groups and members of the local community to understand their priorities and concerns in relation to the transition to a low carbon society. From this project we hope to build a community vision involving all stakeholders and collaboratively develop adaptation and mitigation activities for Highgate in Transition.
