We have a mailing list of approx.500. Some of these attend the meetings of community projects we support, some of whom use our bank account, such as Mincinglake Community Orchard, Exeter Greenspace Group, Tiny Homes. Attendance at these last year - at least 50 with more participants online, with crucial representation at Civic events, planning hearings and an appeal. Lots of us went to the Big Exeter Feast - probably 30 or so who are on our mailing list - organised by Johanna who is also on the organising group for the Exeter Seed Bank. We partnered with Transition Exmouth and Sustainable Tiverton to launch Friends of the Exe and I would guess some 200 people took part in the various events and conversations last year, including the Festival of the Exe, and the two Exeter River Conversations (others were held in other places) which attracted 40+ participants the first time and 30+ the second. In the ongoing working groups there are probably 20 people - these active members don't just belong to TE so I haven't counted them all in the estimate of volunteers and active members above.

I believe we can be described as an unconstituted group, though I don't know why that is, because we do have a constitution and whenever we apply for funding they ask for it and it seems acceptable. We are not a company or charity.

Some of our projects have spun off and become independent, like Exeter Community Growers, New Prosperity Devon (doing new economy education), and Exeter Community Energy,. We've done quite a lot of what's on the list at various times. The ticks represent activities for the last year. The Community Hub we supported with paid interns last year also did: Art Creativity Imagination/visioning Local networks Education projects (with the Global Systems Institute at Exeter Uni) Just transition activities and a number of focussed sessions on local media, tipping points, etc.

We are a group of local people who want to:

Increase the quality of life in Exeter, aiming for a healthier, happier and more empowered community Reduce our negative impacts on the environment, both locally and further afield, and respect environmental limits Reduce the negative impacts on us of climate change and peak oil – for example escalating fuel prices and flooding – through increasing our resilience within a changing world.
