Transition Town Kaitaia established in Far North of Aotearoa/NZ in 2009 and met monthly until 2019 – involved with set up of film evenings, Kaitaia Timebank, Kaitaia Savings Pool, Maara Kai Community Gardens, EcoCentre, and other community initiatives. In 2023 no longer active apart from a monthly newsletter with 200+ readership.  Former members still active across local initiatives: composting, repurposing resources, community gardens, etc.
